Celebrating seniors & urban agriculture in Philadelphia!
Community gardens can provide elders with the opportunity to grow their own food, exercise, share their knowledge, and express creativity. These gallivants build upon GenPhilly’s Germinating Partnerships event, which brought together professionals from a variety of disciplines to spark conversation and projects around elder-friendly gardens.
Klein JCC, an intergenerational community center, operates a 24′x36′ Hoop House that operates March to November and a 24′x24′ garden that operates May to September. Come out to mix and mingle in the garden and for a lesson on container gardening and transplanting.
