Older adults and people with disabilities now have until December 31 to apply for Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. The rebates, combined with general property tax relief from slots gaming, will eliminate school property taxes for about 120,000 residents, according to Secretary of Revenue C. Daniel Hassell. The program benefits eligible PA residents age 65+; widows and widowers 50+; and people with disabilities 18+. The income limit is $35,000 (excluding half of SSI) for homeowners and $15,000 for renters. The maximum standard rebate is $650. The program also provides up to $325 in supplemental property tax rebates to homeowners in Philadelphia. For more information or to obtain a claim form, go to www.PaPropertyTaxRelief.com
