With a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning, the Philadelphia Senior Center officially opened its new internet cafe — with ten computers.
KYW’s Michelle Durham reports that some of the computers will remain in the cafe but others are portable so the seniors can take them anywhere in the building.
After the ribbon cutting, Barbara and Betty were among the first in line to see the computers. Barbara has her own laptop at home and she plans to bring it in to the wireless senior center.
“They are on there. But I think more of them need to understand that they need to learn to use the computer. They really do because this is the world we live in now. Everything is computerized so they really need to learn.”
