People say they want to age in place not just because they love their house but because they love their neighborhood. It’s nice when the neighborhood loves them back.
For folks who live in a naturally occurring retirement community, or NORC, the feeling is mutual.
NORC describes a community that wasn’t specifically built for seniors but over time gradually became home to a higher percentage of people older than 60. The community can be an apartment building or complex, or it can be a neighborhood with single and multifamily housing, as long as the buildings have fewer than six stories. continue reading>>
