Code for America enlists the brightest minds of the web industry into public service to use their skills to solve core problems facing our communities. We help talented technologists leverage the power of the internet to make governments more open and efficient, and become civic leaders able to realize transformational change with technology

Do you feel city government could be run more efficiently/transparently? So does the government…

…and they’ve recruited the Code for America program to help us down that road. Code for America is a recently launched national program to build applications to help city governments be more effective. The other cities joining Philly in this progressive, inaugural program include Boston, DC, and Seattle. In Philadelphia, the program will be a part of the city’s ongoing Digital Philadelphia Initiative. Philadelphia’s fellows will dedicate 9 months to coding, but first they’re spending the month of February in Philadelphia researching how to improve the connection between Philly’s citizens and government.

So join Young Involved PhiladelphiaTechnically Philly, University of the Arts- Corzo Center and the City of Philadelphia – on February 23rd from 6-8 at University of the Arts (Gershman Y) for a fun, non-technical brainstorming session. If you have ideas on how city government can be improved, come out. Let’s make it happen.

Let us know you’re coming —\.
