Generation Appreciation Philadelphia mingled with older artists who showed their work at Rembrandt’s Restaurant & Bar on Sunday May 31, 2009. GenPhilly met with artists, learned the stories behind their work and life, and shared their interests in creative expression.
This event was part of Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s (PCA) seventh annual “Seniors Celebrate the Arts,” which was a month-long celeberation during the month of May (Older Americans Month). The program presents a way to engage seniors’ talents and creativity and connect them to opportunities for creative expression and involvement. Presented by PECO, the festivities include three exhibits of outstanding senior artwork; an array of arts-related activities for seniors at venues throughout the city, including four free gallery tours; and senior discount coupons to cultural institutions and performances.
