Celebrate Arts & Aging

May is Older Americans Month and to show our support, GenPhilly participated in PCA’s Celebrate Arts & Aging, a month-long citywide event promoting creativity & aging. During the entire month of May, we attended and/or volunteered at the exhibits and events below that highlighted artwork and performances by older adults.

April 30, 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Philadelphia International Arts Festival – Street Fair
Broad Street (Chestnut to Lombard)

The Avenue of the Arts transformed into a Parisian street fair with French street vendors and performers, a grass park with a children’s area, musical entertainment all day long, and a giant Ferris Wheel.

PCA had a table at the event promoting Celebrate Arts & Aging.

“Creative Conversation” Panel Discussion & Art Reception

Creative Arts and Aging Network held a lively panel discussion “Creative Conversations,” that explored the creativity of older artists and art-related programs for seniors.
